Hwyl is a wide-meaning Welsh word that Tiffany Watt Smith describes as "the word for a boat sail [...] that means exuberance or excitement, as if clipping along on a guest of wind". In "Garthowen" by Allen Raine (1900) is used to express a "sudden ecstasic inspiration". Hwyl can also be used to say goodbye (Hwyl fawr - go with the wind in your sails).
